Walhalla to Warburton via Yarra Falls was a popular multi day walk in the early part of last century. This is a Sentinel 2 satellite image from 786 km up of the February 2019 Walhalla bushfires that came close to the town
Annie Yoffa walked from Warburton to Walhalla solo in the late 1920s and wrote a book about it and mentioned the effects of bush fires. She never got to see the earth like this Landsat 8 image of the February 2019 fires at Walhalla.
Lucky this years Thomson catchment bush fire didn't blow westwards to the Upper Yarra catchment. This is a view from Landsat 8
So quiet and with such fresh air but a little hazy at Mount Donna Buang yesterday evening.
