Saw this fern tree the other day while doing a spot of weed control and I would imagine it must be well over 200 years old. Probably the oldest tree on the property of several thousand.
I went to the auction on the neighbor's 90 acres today. The first time in at least many decades that the property has gone to auction. The new owner got themselves an environmental bargain at $915,000.
Found this photocopied map of the O'Shannassy River closed water catchment and the Armstrong creek closed water catchment down in the cellar this arvo. The original was in colour mostly green and pink. Similar maps were made for Watts and Upper Yarra
One of the few dogwood trees left on the bush camp. Decades ago they used to be far more abundant but have been crowded out by blackwood trees.
