The Warburton Tree is under threat of being cut down by the Yarra Ranges council. It is a 250 year old grey gum.
This is a picture of the river flats at the bush camp in the late 1970s. Now the area has been rewilded and there are many secluded camping spots there.
Sadly this blackwood tree came down a while back. I remember the area before it was even growing. The tree that is almost totally obscured behind it is still there. Blackwoods usually only live to around 50 years or so.
