Just a few kilometres north of Mt Donna Buang is the Watts River Reference Area. This area has mostly survived all of the bush fires of the last 100 plus years. It is one of the few old growth forests in Victoria. The book pictured above gives a little bit of detail about it and the Mount Ash forest beyond. It is in the Upper Watts Catchment that the "snow girl" went missing and was found in 1953. Over the next few months I will put together a package on here about this unique area.
